Purpose in all seasons

The entrance of autumn signals the quieting of the earth, reduced sunlight, and more time indoors for those of us in rainy, cool climates. I become more reflective when the earth returns to itself, seeking more comfort and warmth - my own process of hibernation. I’m noticing that my art practice adjusts alongside the change of season too. My approach to the work adjusts using alternate substrates, color choices, brush strokes, and tools. That’s the beauty of intuitive, heart-led art.

As we unpack sweaters and turn off the AC, take a moment to think about how a change of season calls to you. Where is it asking you to lean in and listen? Where is it asking you to rest and reset?
