Breathe in harmony
It’s Finding Me Friday and I’m finding myself craving harmony. Not only is it my word for 2025 but it’s also the state of mind I’m seeking to cultivate.
Harmony for me means purposefully curating experiences that call in peace, tranquility, and solidarity. Whether that be at home, in my studio, or in community.
The harmony of colors in art making is considered an important component to composition. The juxtaposition of cool tones and warm tones - color construction - can affect the viewers sense of the work being exceptional or mediocre, just like in our lived experiences.
If you’re an artist, how do you begin to construct harmony on your substrate of choice? Do you have a go-to palette or do you let your intuition lead?
If you’re an art patron or gallerist, how does harmony in a work draw you in? Is it comforting, illuminating, thought-provoking, or all of the above?
My wish for you this weekend is to be immersed in harmony that brings you peace, love, and joy.
Keep creating.
